Thank you for this tip. My cat is having an issue since she is 101 cat years old. I have to constantly monitor nail growth since they grow around into her pad. I also see the quick area is darkened as though it is infected on many of them. I am going to start washing with a soft bristled brush in hopes of helping her. Maybe soaking them for 10 minutes in a warm soapy solution would help as well. But again, your video really helped me. I never really knew the proper way at using the trimmer.

@ZONEGX Yes, the nail caps should stay on between 4-6 weeks and they allow for normal retraction. Your cat will still be able to walk, jump, knead, stretch, play & scratch like always the only difference is the claws will be blunt and help prevent the damage caused by scratching.

Thanks, also my cat likes to scratch things, will the soft paws stay on their nails? And will the soft paws retract with my cat’s nails?

The nail caps will help blunt the scratching. Eyes are a sensitive area, caps or no caps scratching could damage the eyes. But as far as general scratching when they interact, the Soft Paws should help a great deal for preventing injury.

my cat scratched my dog in the eye, will SoftPaws prevent this from hurting my dog in the future, because I’m desperately trying to find an alternative to declawing.

I could not trim my 3 month old kittens nails much less apply soft paws. She went crazy! It was awful. Fortunately my vet will trim the cats nails and apply the soft paws for $10. (I supply the soft paws) I took her in 1 time a month for about 4 months. After that I started replacing the ones that would fall off myself. Check out MissBiscuit823 “kitty gets her manicure”. She’s 1 year old now. You’d have to see it to believe it. I’d be glad to share my experiences with you if you like.

I have seen lots of info on applying Soft Paws but none on removing them. In the beginning I would take my cat to the Vet about once a month and have the old ones taken off and new ones put on. Now that I do it myself I usually just wait till they fall off then put on a new one. I don’t know how to get them off without hurting her. I would like to replace more of the ones that are ready all at once while the glue in the tube is still fresh before it starts to dry up and get goopy.

I am about to get a new kitty in a couple weeks though the adoption agency is against declawing and won’t let me adopt him in the case, i was wondering from customers would you reccommend them?

They fall off with the natural shedding cycle of the cats nails.

This position is just one example of how to hold your cat while applying the nail caps. Its best to hold your cat in whatever position that makes both you and your cat comfortable.

Soft Paws are designed not to interfere with the normal extension and retraction of a cats claws. Your cat will still be able to walk, play, climb, jump, stretch and scratch like normal the only difference is that the nail caps blunt the scratching that causes damage.

We offer kitten sizes that can be applied after they are at least 12 weeks old.

This is so unreal… my cats would never let me hold them in that position, let alone get their claws LOL

Charlie is an angel!

Doesn’t this make the cats uncomfortable to walk???? It seems like his paws can no longer return to their “hiding” place when he has them on. I’m just curious, because my kitties scratch a lot on the furniture and I want to get new couches LOL

these aren’t really good for kittens becuase their nails grow very fast
