Sorry, Rachel, somebody is going to do the historical thing. It is THAT important. It has been said that the healthcare industry has like 7 lobbyists per senator. Where do you think those senators come from? The ones who aren’t ex staffers are ex senators and ex congressmen. Don’t get reelected and what do you do with yourself? You become a lobbyist. Killing this bill is worth a seven figure salary for whoever does it.

Well said. If they do vote for a fillibuster, I want them to actually have to do the dirty deed and have someone talk for as long as it takes to make them suffer the indignity of droning for hours. We haven’t had an actual fillibuster for a long time.

Harry Reid has the power to say, “No, y’all are gonna have to make asses of yourselves in front of the people, get yapping jerks!”

Force their hand, and show them for the obstructionist industry shills many are.

I agree. Let anyone who Filibuster this incredibly needed piece of legislation talk until they contract swine flu from weakness! There’s irony! Or else embarrass the jerk(s) until no company will hire them for fear of losing business. Exposure is the only chance we have against corporate cartells and price- and Regulation-fixing. Advertising is so dominant, and the news media is run by the same corporations. I heard that some GE stockholders complain about Rach & Keith. Good! Screw em.
