My cat Suzy and I catch and release a bird she brought in through the pet door.

To stop intruders I had my cats microchipped and installed a Pet Porte; a chip operated door. In the boys’ defense Biscuit was becoming senile and Mymate was still young. Smudge, the female, was quiet and smart as usual… They soon got used to it and I am glad I got this product:-)

I really needed a laugh tonight. Thank you. I just couldn’t contain my giggles for the first 2 minutes. The shreek/scream you made at 1:07 made me laugh so hard- almost woke up everyone in the house.

Me too. I always help the poor animals my cat brings home. I tell you why. My cat loves to torture. I remember the time she bringed a bird that screamed like a baby. It was horrible. But I managed to save it.

Hehehe, sounds like quite a scene. In general bat are pretty cool creatures though. They eat tons of insects. Once I was playing badmitton outside and hit the birdie straight up in the are and a bat followed it down so far I actually wound up diving on the ground.

I Grabbed My Son (3 At The Time,I Was Expecting Our Daughter) And Ran Out On The Porch. My Husband (Who Had Just Painted The Porch, Was Screaming At Us To Get Back In There. I Know The Neighbors Thought We Were Fighting. Tom Put On A Painters Cap, And Had A Broomstick Trying To Chase It Outside. I Forget How He Ended Up Catching It, But He Did. We Figure It Came Down Through The Fireplace. ;0)

Thanks for watching petunia. OK, that’s one vote for wren. I’m sure this will happen another time or two this summer. I’m going to try to get a much better picture of the bird the next time.

I think that was a wren. Its head and beak looked like a wren. The look different that other birds to me. Good for you that you caught it and got to let him loose. I like Suzy and all your cats!

Aww, nice of you to give it a second chance. I’ve actually got a small homemade birdcage here for that purpose. Usually if a bird which my cat has brought in has no visable injuries but can’t initially fly it’ll still recover enough to fly within hours. I did once keep a dove in the cage for 2 weeks however. Now that little saga would have made a nice YouTube series.

Last time we retrieved a hedge sparrow from one of our younger cats I released it and it flew straight into the mouth of mama cat who happened to be standing nearby. Luckily we got it back intact and released it in a nearby field after it spent a quiet night recovering in my office!

Thanks Kev:) Episode 2 isn’t in the can as they say. But odds of episode 2 happening eventually is still 100% according to past experience. It’s just a matter of time till it’s “look what the cat drug in” time again, LOL.

Yay, your baaaaccckkk!!!. Now go make me a video, LOL. I’ll try to save you a little time on my vids. My main creative one of late was my response to Twish1999. Her name is in the vid title. Otherwise it’s mainly just gardening vids and where I taped a singer at a street festival. Those might not be your cup of tea, I don’t know. Try and catch the Twish one if you have the time.

Thanks Noa:) Ya, Suzy is like a feline bloodhound when it comes to house prey. I’ve released lots of birds in that fashion, but I’ve never seen fly off quite that fast.
